Preparation for the 11 Plus Entrance Examination

Our 11 Plus tuition programme is designed to build confidence towards the exams and to help children get to grips with the various question types they will meet.

Although some grammar schools set their own papers, the majority of schools follow either all or part of the syllabus set by the two main providers of 11+ examinations: CEM (Durham University) or GL Assessments.

We can help your child as they work towards any of the 11+ Grammar Examinations.

11 Plus Steps to Success

  • Let us know which schools you are interested in, from there we can help you determine which examinations your child needs to work towards.
  • Your child will need to take an assessment. We may look at mathematics, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning depending on the examinations your child is sitting.
  • The results are entered into our computer system ‘Action’ and an individual programme of work is set – we know where your child needs immediate help and we know what is expected if they are going to study for the eleven plus examinations. So, the lessons are a combination of revision, current learning and pushing them on with the eleven plus syllabus.
  • Weekly lessons are booked either at one of our locations or online with a tutor.
  • Lessons are booked for either 1, 1.5 or 2 hours a week
  • Regular re-testing and revision ensures topics are consolidated

I just wanted to say a really big thank you to you for being James tutor. I was struggling as you know with James being a single mom with a very bright child who was lazy!! (Trying had to get out of everything) You came along, James was a challenge as he always thought he could get away with doing things in an easier way, you recognised his potential and boy did you help. I am so grateful, you really care, your dedication is admirable, and we would lose without you. I would not hesitate to recommend you. If anybody wants to speak they can call me. My son not only passed his 11 plus but got one of the highest marks way to go James …. and Persuade.

When I first started tuition with Ms Ziki I was ok at Math’s and not so go at English and after my first lesson I still though I wasn’t going to pass my 11 plus until I had more lessons and that’s when I got much better at my subjects and also learnt some new ones as well. At first I did not know what I was doing but Miss Ziki helped me on the way. I have improved so much and learnt new things. Ms Ziki has taught me so much. Having Ms Ziki as a tutor was the best. I learnt perimeters, area, formal and informal letters and so much more. At first I was rubbish at it all but because of Miss Ziki, she helped me on the way and I know it all. I got confused with Perimeter and area because it was just hard until Ms Ziki talked me through it and I got the hang of it. Now that I passed my 11 plus I feel like I can do anything. Thank you so much.

Persuade was recommended by my sister as she tutored her eldest son who is currently a year 9 pupil at Gravesend Grammar school. Ryan is flying at GGS, intact he is taking his GCSE Math’s in year 9. Luke, my son was as most young boys reluctant to do extra work and moaned constantly about doing all the additional homework. However, he did do this and has learnt so much from Persuade that he is confident in Math’s now and this is reflected in his results at school and more importantly his 11 plus results. Persuade is very talented and fantastic teacher as well as being lovely person. My husband and I are so grateful to persuade and would have no hesitation in recommending her for tutoring.
