How it works

  • Your child takes an initial assessment – we will help you select the correct assessments according to the subject, year group and level required
  • From the initial assessment an individual Action Plan is built which details the work required to bring your child’s skills to the desired level
  • If your child’s goal is to take the 11 Plus examination we will add in verbal and non verbal reasoning into your child’s Action Plan
  • Each of our lessons contains revision and extension work
Maths Tuition

Our assessments are planned and administered depending on the age and current Key Stage level of the child. For children KS1 and KS2 these assessments are made up of a series of tests designed to measure the degree of mathematical use and understanding. For KS3 (Year 7-9) and KS4 (Years 10-11 GCSE) we have past Year papers along with various GCSE Mathematics papers that we use to evaluate children. Based on the results that we get from these assessments we then write a personalised action plan for each child, covering areas that need revision and practice to help them achieve a higher degree of understanding and application.Children between the ages of 5 and 11 cover basic numeracy, which includes times tables, fractions, approximation, rounding up and reading graphs. We also assign regular mental arithmetic exercises every lesson for those children that need it. For students that are Keystage 3 or GCSE level, we produce personalised maths programmes for each student to work from.

For children preparing to take the 11 Plus exam, our mathematics programmes cover mathematical elements beyond Keystage 2. Nonverbal Reasoning (which is included as a part of mathematics) is also included if it is to be taken for the examination.

English Tuition

We can help improve your child’s reading, writing, spelling and comprehension skills from KeyStage 1 to GCSE (KeyStage 4) level, and we say this with confidence as over the years we have helped thousands of children do better at school.English is one of the most important core subjects at school that many children struggle with. We help to address this in a number of ways throughout our lessons.

English lessons follow our diagnostic test.

GCSE assessments consist of a recent past English exam paper from the same exam board as the one the school is working with. Another aspect of GCSE help is to develop different ways to interpret and manipulate examination questions.

Spelling Help
For children taking Verbal Reasoning in their 11 Plus examinations, many exercises rely on accurate spelling skills.
Reading Help
KS1 and some KS2 children would receive help with their phonics and word building skills, as well as simple comprehension techniques.

Persuade has been great help right from when I met her since June 2014 when I began. I have just been improving in all subjects. Persuade teaches in an excellent manner and is very kind. Whenever I am confused on anything, Persuade is there to assist me. I have worked with her for just over a year nabs after every lesson, I feel more confident in my work. The way she explains anything is plain magic, I understand whatever she says, whenever she says it. Due to her input, I have passed my 11 plus .I am really proud of myself sand I than her teaching. As I commenced tuition with her, verbal reasoning was simply bugging me. I had known nothing about the subject. Although, as I developed, it began to sit in my mind and I it become that simpler. None verbal was no easier at first either but with the help of persuade, the easier it got. Persuade is kind and helpful and is a pleasant tutor. I am so thankful to her and I couldn’t have chosen someone better. Thank you so much.

When I first started tuition with Ms Ziki I was ok at Math’s and not so go at English and after my first lesson I still though I wasn’t going to pass my 11 plus until I had more lessons and that’s when I got much better at my subjects and also learnt some new ones as well. At first I did not know what I was doing but Miss Ziki helped me on the way. I have improved so much and learnt new things. Ms Ziki has taught me so much. Having Ms Ziki as a tutor was the best. I learnt perimeters, area, formal and informal letters and so much more. At first I was rubbish at it all but because of Miss Ziki, she helped me on the way and I know it all. I got confused with Perimeter and area because it was just hard until Ms Ziki talked me through it and I got the hang of it. Now that I passed my 11 plus I feel like I can do anything. Thank you so much.

I just wanted to say a really big thank you to you for being James tutor. I was struggling as you know with James being a single mom with a very bright child who was lazy!! (Trying had to get out of everything) You came along, James was a challenge as he always thought he could get away with doing things in an easier way, you recognised his potential and boy did you help. I am so grateful, you really care, your dedication is admirable, and we would lose without you. I would not hesitate to recommend you. If anybody wants to speak they can call me. My son not only passed his 11 plus but got one of the highest marks way to go James …. and Persuade.
